Our Approach

A broken connection between mind, body, and spirit leads to chronic physical and emotional ailments in modern life. We strive to re-establish that balance for our patients through the unique combination of Acupuncture, mind-body medicine, nutrition guidance, and lifestyle suggestions.

Evidence-based medicine

Acupuncture is supported by scientific research for treatment of chronic pain, including lower back pain, osteoarthritis of the knee, chronic headaches, neck pain as well as other conditions such as allergic rhinitis. It is clinically relevant and persists over time, and more than a placebo effect.

Mechanisms of Acupuncture

Acupuncture triggers the release of various chemicals in the body, such as endorphins (the body’s natural opioids). It is also found to release the neurotransmitters such as serotonin and dopamine, which can modulate pain perception and promote feeling of wellbeing.

It can modulate central nervous system by stimulating sensory and autonomic nerves, which can induce physiological changes in the brain.

Acupuncture has anti-inflammatory effects by positively influencing the immune system.

Currently, more and more clinical trials are being done in order to better understand its underlying physiological mechanisms.

At our sessions

We encourage our patients to increase awareness of their minds, body, and spirit. Dr. Robyn is often an investigator at the session, delving into many questions to better understand the symptom and a technician to fine-tune her skill set.

Focus areas

We treat patients of all ages with pain, headache/migraines, chronic stress and fatigue, and digestive disorders, and women’s health.

Our Inspirations

We can use illness to peel away that which is not truly who we are. We can recognize illness as the body’s way of trying to tell us we have something we need to learn in order to feel more whole, in order to be well.

Dr. Yvonne R. Farrell

Healing is about your capacity to engage in your own transformation from fear to courage, from holding on to the past to letting go, from living in illusion to truth.

Caroline Myss

Do as much as possible for the patient, and as little as possible to the patient.

Dr Bernard Lown

When we know ourselves to be connected to all others, acting compassionately is simply the natural thing to do.

Dr. Rachel Naomi Remen
